Front page- 1st proof.

GOOD- 1st proof of my magazine; So far i like the way it has turned out. My favourite part about it is the glitter background along with the sparkly masthead. I like the way the two work together and create a look so that they link togther. The glitter also contain the five of six colours i choose for my house style which are pink, purple, yellow, green and blue. I think that these colours apart of this glitter background add to make my magazine more girly which links to my teenage girl target audience. The image i choose doesnt seem much in touch with music and can appear to seem like a fashion magazine, however i believe this photo was best to use as i like how the colours of the lipgloss and the denim jacket go with the masthead and background.

IMPROVEMENTS; Looking at the outcome i have here, i would like to make a few improvements such as; making the cover lines stand out more by maybe putting them in a white box or making the text a bit bigger and bolder. I would also like to include some form of selling line for my magazine which i struggled to decide where i would put it and what i would want it to be. These improvements will be included in my final piece.

Double page spread article questions/final piece.

Below i have shown the questions that i have decided on to include in my double page spread to feature in my exclusive celebrity interview. For my target audience i had to keep the questions simple and appropriate so that they where suitable. Unlike other magazines such as NME their type is very formal/serious and they wouldn't be age appropriate for young teenage girls.

-When did you know you wanted to be a famous pop musician?

-Has your journey to the top been difficult? If so, how? And if you had the chance how would you change it?

-You were and still are very young. Do you think this has put you at a disadvantage?

-You say knew you wanted to be a celebrity from a young age, how would you have known?

-Where do you see yourself in five years time?

-Who do you aspire to be like?

-Well we wish you the very best of luck and thank you.

Final coverlines

On my front page i have only decided to include a few cover lines for my 1st proof as i don't want to overload it too much. If i were to put too much on the front cover it may create a hectic mess resulting in readers getting confused and not wanting to buy or read the magazine.

The three i have included are;

- Which pop artist are you? Find out inside.

- A free single of any desired POP artist...Apply inside.

-TARA BUTLER (with quote)- "I will dazzle the music industry".

I may decide after my first proof that i do want to incorporate more cover lines instead of just the three i have included above. I thought making it simple at first then adding more as i wanted would make it a lot easier then putting a load onto the front cover and becoming over crowed with out any room on the page to work with.

Final Masthead.

Below here is my final masthead design. I have included a few more sparkles from the first original design which i think work well this is as it adds more emphasis on the sparkle linking it to my teenage girl target audience. This masthead is now ready to go on to my front page. This means i can now start to work on my magazine working around the masthead so that is all links and go together.

First masthead attempt with image.

Above here i have shown an image i edited on paint.net with my masthead. This look has no relevance to the design i want for my magazine, it was just an end result after messing with the effects and adjustments tools on the paint.net software. Practicing like this allows me to see what i can and cant work with. Clearly, this photo does not work well, this is as the red colour towards the top of the image and the pink of the masthead clash resulting in the masthead being very un-readable. I don't like the edit on the photo itself as it doesn't go with my girly theme for my target audience of young girls. The edit is very retro and not current which is the look i'm going for.

Double page spread article ideas/questions.

Below here i am going to come up with a list of questions that i could use in my article to my exclusive celeb then after i will pick several that i think are best and in a few days will decide on the final questions for my article. The questions may change slightly for the final piece but will be along the same lines.

Question; Are you enjoying your fame so far?

Question; You're only quite young, does the big world scare you?

Question; When did you know you wanted to be a famous pop musician?

Question; Does it feel good to hear people scream your name?

Question; Who do you aspire to be like?

Question; Where do you see yourself in five years time?

Question; Hoe does it feel to be noticed over in america?

Question; How has your journey been to the top? would you change it in any way?

Question; Do you think being so young puts you at a disadvantage?

Question; Have you changed in anyway to become more famous?
